Glowy Spring Makeup Look

We are officially in the last month of spring here in Namibia and I’m excited for summer and December, as it is my birthday month and Christmas (YAY!!) This means that I can finally start playing Christmas music without being judged (I love my Christmas carols okay).  I have therefore decided to do a final spring makeup look, which can definitely be used for summer as well.

The eye makeup

I started off by priming my eyes with the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser.

Next, I filled in my eyebrows with the Catrice Eye Brow Stylist Pencil in the shade Date with Ash-ton.

I then applied the LA Girl Concealer all over my eyelid to prep my eyes and then set the concealer with some translucent powder.

I then applied this shimmery pink color from the SMOKY Palette all over my eyelid.

Next, I went in with this brown color from the HD Nude Palette and applied this in my crease and extended it upwards.

Also from the HD Nude Palette I applied this even darker brown color also into my crease and extending it upwards for a little more definition.

I then applied this plum brown color from the ELF Little Black Beauty Book (Warm Edition) Palette onto the outer corner of my eyelid.

Next, I applied this orangey bronze color from the HD Nude Palette all over my eyelid(which is the third color in the palette that can be seen in the picture below) I then reapplied some of that shimmery pink color I used in the beginning also over my eyelid to soften down the orangey color.

I then applied the Essence Volume Stylist Curl and Hold Mascara to my top lashes.

After I finished my face makeup, I went back to my eyes and just put a bit of the two brown shades under my lash line and applied the Essence Lash Princess Mascara to my bottom lashes as well.

I then also applied this shimmery white color to the inner corners of my eyes, as well as my brow bone.

The Face Makeup

I started off by priming my face with the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser.

I then applied my foundation and used the Rimmel 25 HR Lasting Finish Foundation in the shade Medium Beige.

I then went in with my concealer and used the LA Girl Pro Concealer in the shade Creamy Beige.

To set my foundation I used the Yardley Absolute Translucent Loose Powder.

I then did my contour with the Absolute New York Pro Contour Palette and used the Catrice High Glow Mineral Highlighting Powder in the shade Light Infusion as my highlighter. (Don’t be shy with the highlighter as this is a glowy makeup look)

For blush I used the Jordana Blush Powder in the shade Rose Silk.

On my lips I used the Avon Color Trend Lip Gloss in the shade Pucker.

And that concludes this makeup look and the spring makeup series.  I will still try to get some spring inspired outfit ideas up on the blog before spring is officially over so be on the lookout for that.

I really hope you enjoyed this post…until next time!

Pretty Spring Makeup Look

Pretty Spring Makeup Look

I am back with another spring makeup look.  I love this look, because it’s simple to do, fun, as well as colorful with the pop of color on the lips.  I also just love the color combo.

The first part of this post will cover the eye makeup, followed by the face makeup.  I used the SMOKY palette to create this look.

Next, I went in with this light pink shimmery color and just applied this right next to the purple color.

I then went in with this champagne color on the inner part of my eyelid and took a blending brush to blend all of the colors together.

For the crease color I used this brown shade from the ELF Little Black Beauty Book (Warm Edition) Palette.

I then applied the Essence Volume Stylist 18 hr Curl and Hold Mascara.

After I finished my face makeup, I went back to my eyes and just put a bit of the brown shade under my lash line and applied mascara to my bottom lashes as well.

Old School Glam Prom Makeup Look

This is my third and final prom inspired look and this is definitely my favorite out of the three looks that I created.  I like to call this the old school glam look, mostly because of the red lips.  This makeup look is therefore for my girls that likes a bold lip.   I really hope this little prom series on my blog has been useful in helping you make your day extra special.  I do have a prom tips and tricks post, as well as two other prom inspired makeup looks on the blog, so be sure to check those out as well.  I kept my face makeup the same, so I did not include it in this post, but you can check it out here.

The eye makeup

For this look I used the ELF Little Black Book (Warm Edition) Palette.

  • I started off by applying my concealer all over my eyelid, just to give it an even color.
  •  I then applied a beige color all over my eyelid, just to set the concealer.
  • I then went in with this light brown shade and applied it in the crease and worked it towards the inner corner, as well as the outer corner of my eyelid.
  • Next I applied a darker brown color and again applied it in the crease as well as the inner and outer corners of my eyelid.
  • I then took this plum color and applied it to the same areas.  You also just want to make sure to blend everything out as you apply it.
  • I then went in with this copper color and also applied it to the same areas.  This time I focused more towards the center of the eyelid.
  • To finish the look I applied a little bit of this shimmery color on the center of my eyelid and simply used my finger to dab it on the eyelid.
  • I then applied the Essence Lash Princess Mascara to my top and bottom lashes and took the darker brown shade and placed that under my lash line.

The gorgeous red color on my lips is the Wet n Wild lipstick Cherry Frost Silk Finish Lipstick.

This is the finished makeup look:

And that concludes this makeup look, as well as the little prom series I have been going on, on my blog.  I might do it again next year and include some hairstyles as well. Do let me know if that is something you would be interested in seeing.

Thank you so much for stopping by…until next time!

Soft and Elegant Prom Makeup Look

I am back with another prom makeup look and this time around I went for a softer look.  This is for my girls that don’t want too much going on, on the eyes, but still want a bit of glitter, because it is after all prom – the time to get all glitzy and glamour (even if it is just a little bit).  I did a previous post on tips and tricks for prom, so if you haven’t already, be sure to go check it out here.  I did not include the face makeup this time around, because it is the same routine as in my previous prom makeup post which you can find here.

The eye makeup

For this look I used the ELF Little Black Book (Warm Edition) Palette.

  • I started off by applying some of the Essence Stay Natural Concealer as a base to ensure the makeup stays and to have an even tone over the eyelid.
  • I then applied a beige color all over my lid just to set the concealer.
  • Next I applied this light brown shade all over my lid and focused it on the outer corner of my eye and took it up to my crease, as well as the inner corners of my eyes. Be sure to blend this in to make sure the color is diffused.
  • I then went in with a darker brown color and this I applied on the same areas as the light brown shade.
  • To add more definition I added this black color also on the same areas and blended everything together.
  • I finished off the look by applying this shimmery color on the eyelid.
  • I then applied the Essence Lash Princess Mascara (I think I’ve mentioned this before, but I am going to say it again, I LOVE this mascara.) You can absolutely add some false eyelashes; I decided to just add the mascara.

For my lips I used the Essence Long lasting Lipstick in the shade Barely There.

And this is the finished makeup look:

Purple Smokey Eye Prom Makeup Look

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted something and I apologize! I have been super busy with assignments. You might have also noticed that I did not put up a July Favorites post and that is because I will be combining my July and August favorites in one post. Today’s post will be a prom inspired makeup look, which for those of you who are past the prom stage can use it for a fancy outing or special event.  I love this look, because it is simple to do and it works very well with brown eyes.  Be sure to check out my previous post as well on my tips for Prom here  As always the first part will consist of the face makeup and the second part will cover the eye makeup.

  1. So I started off by priming my face with the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser.
  2. I then applied my concealer, I find that applying it before the foundation works better to cover up my blemishes and I used the Essence Stay Natural Concealer in the shade Soft Beige. I just apply this under my eyes, on the bridge of my nose, on my forehead and on any blemishes I have.
  3. I then applied my foundation and used the L’Oréal True Match Foundation in the shade Sand. I love this foundation, because it is very lightweight.  You also want to make sure not to use a foundation that has a SPF in it, because it usually creates flashback in photos.
  4. To set my foundation I used the Yardley Absolute Translucent Loose Powder.
  5. I then did my contour with the Absolute New York Pro Contour Palette and used the same palette to highlight my face.
  6. To finish off the look, I went in with the Jordana Blush Powder in the shade Rose Silk.

The Eye Makeup

To create this look, I used the SMOKY Palette, the ELF Little Black Book (Warm Edition) Palette and the Essence Quattro (Denim 4.0) Eye shadow Palette.

  • I started off by filling in my eyebrows with the Smudge Brow Pencil in the shade Light Brown.
  • I used this brown color from the ELF Palette as a base color and placed it all over my eyelid.
  • I then used this purple shade from the Essence Palette and placed this on the outer corner of my eyelids.

In the inner corner of my eyelid I used this shimmery silver color from the SMOKY Palette and focused it towards the center of my eyelid.

I then used the purple color from the Essence Palette and placed it under my lower lash line and the silver color from the SMOKY Palette towards the inner corner of my eye.

For mascara I used the Essence Lash Princess Mascara. I did not apply any false lashes, but that is totally optional, I think it would look great with this look as well.

For lips I used NYC Lipstick in the shade Petal and topped it off with the Essence XXXL Lip Gloss in the shade True Love and I  did not want to go too dark with the lips, since the eyes are already dramatic, but this is totally optional as well.
